Plant of the Day
Wednesday 7 June 2017

A master class in foliage colour and texture with the large, rounded glossy, chocolate-maroon leaves of Ligularia dentata ‘Britt Marie Crawford’ contrasting with the variegated Hosta ‘Enterprise’. This Hosta has yellow changing to creamy-white leaves with a green margin and lavender flowers. Finally Picea abies ‘Cincinnata’ (Norway spruce) is a large, weeping upright selection with long, thin, recurved, dark green needles. Unlike other pendulous cultivars of this species it’s branches tend to grow out and then down. The terminal leader is upright, while the laterals are held horizontal and meandering.
